Benefits include better VTX signal pickup and Bluetooth range.
Firstly there are two variations of ImmersionRC Puck Stand, the Blue one is the first version and the second Grey one is the newer revision which uses less plastic and in my opinion looks better. However my son prefers the look of V1 so hence I've uploaded both of these.
When placed in the corner of a gate at this angle the internal patch antenna covers the whole gate area and there is minimal change of a) missing a pass and b) damaging the puck due to a low pass at the centre of the gate.
For better Bluetooth range I would recommend having the lapRF on the far side of the gate. The reason for this, is the internal Bluetooth antenna is now pointing up and at you so hence much better signal than lying flat on the ground.
