I decided to make my own twist on an improved leveling knob for the CR-10/CR-10s, etc. With 7 nubs on the knob, each nub raises or lowers 0.1mm, much like this knob: (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2603493)
This knob, however, has no number markings or supports required. It's a simple strong part that you can print in any material (I printed in ABS for the printed item pictured, but PLA is good too).
The fit on the original thumbscrews is tight, but nothing crazy. Give firm constant pressure and you should have no problems installing it. I'd avoid using a hammer.
