Made my own Thorsden IFD following kb0nly instructions with E3D v6 heatsinks & hotend. REX-C100 as PID with SSR and thermocouple kit, a spare 12V halogen lamp power supply (no need of rectified current), 5V usb charger power supply for fan.
I had to modify thermocouple end to fit in the hotend block. Original thermistor isn't recognized by PID and measures were erratic.
My support design is in 5 separate parts dovetail assembled for back and lateral supports (not visible on 3D view here but cuttings are made), with a 30mm fan enclosure as a temperature control improvement. Fan is a spare from a RPi3 enclosure.
Fan is triggered by alarm pins from PID for faster cooling of hotend in case of an override, as natural preset temperature recovery takes a very very long time. And it was fun to use every possible feature of REX.
Yet tested for multiple prints with my Original Prusa Mini+ : printing quality is close to perfect, amazingly better than previous prints with a (only) 3 we
