Here is my version of a "Invisible Thread Reel".
Most magician will know what is it good for.
I try to work with very thin kevlar threads. But in the standard tube-like reels the ultra thin tread breaks very often. Changing the thread takes me more then 20min. Each time...
So pure time wasting!
In a video with John Finn he showed his old self-made reel. It was contained in a pillbox.
Based on that design I tried different housing-sizes, reel-diameter, rubber-band-length and so on.
This is now my 5th design. Features:
- Pull out length of 2m is possible. (may be more?)
- Very quite (if not pulled out to fast)
- Very easy to add a new wax ball to the left over thread
- Very easy to set pre-tension, by turning the rubber loops on the angers
- Very easy and quick replacing the hole spinner
- Size is okay to stay in my jeans front pocket or be attached in a Jacket.
- ... and - of course - easy to print.
I bought the rubber band in a hand-craft store. It is provided f
