iPhone 12 Pro Max Dock Station – A Retro RevisitThis project is a reinterpretation of a wonderful iPhone dock originally designed by Scott Yu-Jan, an incredible designer on YouTube who inspired the whole idea. Definitely check out his work if you haven’t already!I wanted to create my own take on the concept — something that felt more aligned with my personal taste and offered a touch of extra functionality. One thing I felt could be improved from Scott’s design was its look when the phone isn’t docked. Without the phone, it appeared a bit unfinished.To address that, I designed front covers that make the dock visually pleasing even when the phone is not in place (which, let’s be honest, is most of the day). These covers hide the wireless charger, and by taking advantage of the ejection mechanism, they form a subtle smile shape, giving the dock a friendly and approachable look.
