Dock with embedded lightning adapter enclosure. Should work with any iOS device using this adapter.
The adapter protrudes 1.25mm above the resting plane to allow phone cases (as seen in 2nd picture).
Second picture is an iPhone 6S with a case, third picture is an iPad Mini. The phone is flush on the dock, the iPad is a bit raised (it has no case).

I've uploaded a sturdier v2 that I remodeled after my wife's copy broke
