This dock is designed so it can clamp onto a shelf or sidetable - and was frankly designed to make charging an iPod easier for my elderly Mom. She relies on her iPod to message with friends and family, but her powered lift chair has eaten way too many lightning cables in the last couple of years.
This SHOULD keep the cables away from the chair, and actually make it a little easier for her to plug the cable in. The compartment has been oversized to accomodate an iPod case as well.
The it's been designed for a very specific lightning cable - a right angle version found here
It fits nice and snug, but has a little tolerance built into the "keyhole".
Add a little Shoe Goo or a rubber bumper to the top of the screw to give it more grip
Designed from scratch in TinkerCad
