For this weeks project we were given the task to create an iterated function system, the twist with this project was that we were tasked to work in layers using 2D shapes. Using OpenScad we were to stack the 2D shapes as layers getting smaller the taller it was. For this week we weren't given specific designs to recreate, so I took inspiration from Sierpinski.
I used Sierpinski's carpet as a design inspiration, but I did not exactly recreate the exact design. I knew I wanted to stick with squares, since my coding skills are not the best in case I ran into any hardships. I created this shape that required 5 squares as the design I wanted to Iterate. An iteration is the repetitive process of reapplying a certain computation to a previous result. [Iterations can be used in mathematics for getting closer approximations for problems and other applications.
