J-clips for Kit-Cat Clock

I was gifted a non-working Doctor Kit-Cat clock after commenting, "oh! You have one of those cat clocks!" The clock would keep time, but the tail and eyes wouldn't move even with new batteries. After viewing the troubleshooting steps on their website, I noticed that both J-clips were missing. These clips apply slight upward pressure on the eyes to reduce friction. This appears to be a common pain point for these clocks, because the OEM sells replacement clips for $5.50 + shipping. I hope my simple design saves someone time and hassle in the future.
