I have a collectors quality Navy Fireproof Morse Code Key that had a plywood base that does not do it any credit. (It is not a classic J38 key). I designed this base as a learning exercise in Tinkercad only to discover that my printer is just a wee too small to do this pattern. I guess I'll just have to order it...
The base is upside down as printed. The internal posts and pads are there in proper position to accept the mounting screws and contacts that will to go to my transceiver. It will function as a table if everything fits the way I believe it should. Four legs at corners plus the internal vertical supports all are large enough to accept non-skid pads. The key mounts with lever arm just hanging over one end of the table so my arm will rest on the desktop while sending.
I planned to make it with black PLA or ABS and to minimally finish it. A photo and wiring diagram will be uploaded if I like the end result.
