I do all my hobby work in my large, unfinished basement in a recently-built house where the upper floor (my basement ceiling) is constructed of manufactured I-beam joists. Until (and if) I get the basement finished, all my electrical power comes from boxes in the ceiling - usually not in the spot I need the power. I needed a way to quickly hang large extension cords as well as long ethernet and audio cables without having to cut holes or drive screws.

I created these hangers to easily slip on and off an I-beam joist and be strong enough to hold up large, heavy electrical cords. They don't need any fasteners or glue to stay in place and they're surprisingly sturdy. Each one is a quick print at Medium resolution. There are 3 cord capacities in 2 orientations (inline and cross). I usually print the 2-cord versions for my basement.

The thin, springy part of the hanger clip is based on this design by area51: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1940105
