Jupiter and 4 Moon Orrery


This thing was a labor of love to complete. I did this as a Christmas gift for my Grandson back in 2023 and I am just getting around to posting it now. This is not for the faint of heart. The whole model takes over 100hrs in just print time not including assembly.

Model redesign
When I first started looking at the model I had a tough time figuring out the gearing on it, so that is when I decided to redesign the model to what I think would make the model easier to print and assemble.
I redesigned all of the gears, shafts and sleeves.
Shafts I included shoulders and keyways. This way the gears go on and can't spin since they are keyed. Each shaft and gear are numbered so they are easier to assemble. I have included a 3d prints and
