K40 LED work piece alignment tool.
After printing a different unit where it is on the table side of the K40 laser and it getting in the way of the drag chain. I decided to make it for the opposite side of the back wall.
Also used a magnet from a old hard drive. Have alot of harddrives from a server farm to get parts from. But you could mod the unit to use any other magnets you can around.
I printed in ABS as this is my filament of choose.
For fun did it at 0.1mm layer at 20% fill.
I did find I had to drill out the LED holes to allow them to be pushed through. Thinking my printer needs to be calibrated again.
The unit I built has two circuits with 4 LEDs per circuit powered with 12 VDC.
The 4 LEDs are in series with approx 34ohm 1/2watt resistor for the last voltage drop required to be used with the 12vdc I applied.
Hot glued the magnet in to keep it from Shifting.
Works great for me.
