Keep It Simple Drawer

This is the "Keep it Simple Drawer" The Drawer is made from Sheet Metal and has been designed with consideration to weight and Cost. The Sheet Metal Box has 1.8kg in Weight. The Components are simple and cheap – which means easy maintenance and low cost of Spare Parts. The Drawer is Functioning as Follows: - Customer goes to terminal to send the package (the terminal singnals the drawer to open, the actuator solenoid pulls back and opens the lock, the two compressed springs on the sides release their energy and pushes the drawer few centimeters to the front) - The Customer sees his Drawer and tries to put a “maybe to large but I don’t care” Package inside but the drawer won’t close (the mechanical lock ant the back sides of the drawer, doesn’t allow the drawer to close, unless the lid can close completely) - The customer won’t save any money, but he will put the larger Package in a bigger Drawer and a letter in that one that is already opened (now the lid closes completely and so also the drawer can close completely. Simple. Easy. Pure. Mechanical. No complex electronics. Just pure Engineering *This is a Prototype/Concept Model and the Detailed Engineering has not yet been done. The new slide lid locking mechanism also serves as a stopper when the two springs at the back push the drawer out. The drawer should smoothly stop at the outermost position of the lid (mov1.gif).
