Kitchen Range Hood Draft Cover

I have often used the saying when all you have is a 3d printer every problem looks like a piece of broken plastic. Then last week my kitchen range hood made a cracking noise followed by a loud grinding noise. I quickly turned it off before it exploded.People generally don't repair things anymore. When an appliance breaks, you pay several hundred dollars for someone to come out and tell you it is broken and they don't make parts anymore because they changed the design a year after it came out. You end up having to buy a new one anyway. I'll admit I'm not that handy when it comes to mechanical repair, but I can safely operate a screw driver and how could it hurt to take a peek? I mean sure I won't be able to fix it but maybe I could describe the problem in detail and save a callout? You may guess my surprise when I open it up to find…. a piece of broken plastic.
