I made this support for a kitchen scale with a round glass plate. It holds it really well, keeping it secure but still allowing it to slide in and out freely.
Can be glued or screwed, both upside down or vertical and with open side up or sideways. Holes are countersunk for 3x16mm wood screws I had lying around.
My scale plate diameter is 160mm and is 4mm thick, with a pencil polished edge.

2 of the 3 holes fit perfectly with Ikea Besta (and probably others). This was pure luck but means with 3x16 wood screws you'll be able to mount it without even ruining the existing holes :)
