🔧 PurposeThis knob is intended for applications where you:• Need a robust, easy-to-replace thread• Want to print spare knobs without sourcing special inserts• Prefer a standard hardware solution instead of proprietary parts• Use widely available prong T-nuts (pronged tee nuts) instead of heated brass inserts – no special tools requiredThe design can be adapted to many projects, including fixtures, jigs, tools, or machine handles.🖨️ Printing Tips• Material: PETG recommended for higher durability (PLA also possible)• Layer Height: 0.2 mm• Infill: 30–50%• Supports:– Required for the caps (due to overhangs)– Main knob body does not require support if printed upright• Perimeters: 3–4 recommended🛠️ Assembly InstructionsInsert the prong nut:• Heat the nut slightly if you prefer a softer press-fit.• Alternatively, lightly hammer it into place if your print tolerances are tight.Attach the cap:• Align the cap with the knob body.• Press-fit or glue in place for permanent mounting.• The cap can also remain removable if preferred.Mounting:• Install the knob on your threaded rod or bolt.• The prong nut provides a secure, reliable thread for repeated use.Note: You can also flip the knob and print it flat (without the lower lip) if you prefer an alternative assembly approach.📏 More Sizes / VariantsMore knobs in this series are available in my profile:• M3• M4• M6• M8• M10• M12All models are published separately to allow convenient downloads for each thread size.
