Worked up this little tray as a custom job for a Kobalt deep socket set. This is a work in progress, so please keep that in mind. Also, it may not be suitable for your deep well socket set. The set I measured for this particular piece has a red stripe on the bottom of the sockets, and the 1-inch socket number is 337758(0218). It is a 12-point, 1/2" drive, SAE set. This tray has some features. Each socket holder is its own piece. This is handy for smaller printers, and so that we can add more sizes later. To keep the edges clean, I decided to use a small double-dovetail on the bottom to hold the segments together, which are intended to be glued after assembly. This also provides the ability to be able to split the set into different size sections depending on your toolbox setup. I embossed the socket size into the holder so that the number is visible when the socket is removed. The idea is to paint a contrasting color into the boss for better visibilty. Finally, I've put holes in each holder for a small magnet. The magnets aren't large enough to hold the socket in vertically, but are intended to provide a little snap in place for a premium feel. The trays were modeled to give 0.5mm clearance around the socket, but are a little longer on the ends for easy removal. Finally, there are some bosses on the bottom of the 3/8" and 1" size for larger magnets, intended to keep the tray from sliding around on the bottom of a steel drawer. I am considering changing the location of these larger magnet holes, and placing one in the bottom of each holder to accommodate for different socket arrangements, but I'm using this as one complete tray. I'm attempting to print these with ABS-Like+ resin, but I'll likely have a friend print it in PETG or nylon at high resolution for a better feel.
