I made a compact spool holder for my Kobra 2 Max which was OK, I used it in addition with a roller guide.
Then I found fosbie's spool holder. Great design, simple and functional. Like mine, it needed minimal changes to the printer to give a small foot print by sitting the spool parallel to the side of the machine. I have an enclosure that would not allow the spool on the top rail so this is perfect. Fosbies require you to remove the front cover from the frame to slide it on. I wanted to replace my version that sat at the rear so needed it to clip on as I couldn't be fussed with removing the rear support.
I took fosbies STL, imported it into Solidworks and used the profile as the basis. Changed design to simply clip into the rail and there you go.
The rolling guide bolts into the upright that the oem metal spool holder bolts into. This way I can have 2 rolls ready to run.
