I use 9mm wide cobb LED strips on the inside edge of the base and hot glue to hold the strips in place for when the adhesive fails, and aluminum tape on the surface of the backplate to eliminate hot or dark spots in the middle. neat trick also is to print the inside face of the backplate white if you have an AMS.
