Lamp Shade - House

This is one of a small range of lamp shade prototypes in which I experimented with the translucency of the material. This house shaped lamp shade has thinner sections that create lighter areas when the ligth source within is turned on, showing a door and windows that are invisible from the outside when the light is off.

Because of the thin walls compared to their height, this print is susceptible to warping. In my first print the walls caved in a little although this isn't visible from a distance. Also some of the details on the inside of the shade are slightly visible on the outside from up close. Again this isn't visible from a distance as seen on the pictures.

I combined this print with an off the shelve lamp base that measures 85x85x85mm (about 3 1/3 inches) but you can scale this model to whatever size works for you.
