Lanier Graham Modified Chess Set

A simple chess set with a board and storage case. I added magnets to the pieces, board and case.

I liked the simple design that TomasLA uploaded of Lanier Graham's chess set. I modified the style of the King and Queen a little, and corrected the size of one of the rooks. The box idea was from 47Thomasj https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3658641.

My son suggested I make the lid slide in from the side so that with the lid on the box, the board could be flush with the other half of the board. The boxes have magnets to hold them together while playing a game of chess. I made the pieces 15mm square and the board squares 20mm to give a bit of room between pieces.

I chose to add a stripe of color to it with the idea of possibly adding a monogram to the King and Queen in the future, by recessing a letter and having the contrasting stripe visible.

I used 6mmx2mm magnets from Amazon for the chess set.
