I like the "Chuckit" type ball thrower but tennis sized balls are small for our dog so wanted something designed for 90mm to 125mm balls.
This is a head that fits on a 25mm diameter dowl/broom handle. (Hole is spec'd at 26mm but ... 3d print)
Bowl
This should print with the larger bowl entrance face down.
I printed without supports which means the inside top of the socket for the handle is less than perfect but good enough to drive the handle into it.
... and yes I should tidy up the print edges but the dog doesnt seem to mind.
Handle
Any old bit of suitable diameter material would probably do.
I used a broom handle which turned out to be a little small (maybe 24mm diameter) so wrapped the end in a few layers of paper to shim it out.
There are 4.8mm diameter holes for 2 countersunk screws to lock the handle into the socket.
I predrilled the handle with a 2mm bit so as not to spilt it, and then used two short 3mm screws but just apply common sense and whatever looks sensible.
