This is my version of the quick release plate for popular laser engravers. My changes:
1. Deeper so that socket cap head screws can be used without the bolts interfering
2. Bottom is solid, so quick release plate can not drop out of the holder
3. Laser side of the mount has more flat surface area for unusual bolt patterns on some modules.
4. Laser side mount has an added horizontal slot for mounting modules with a horizontal pattern (max 15mm) (some of the smaller heatsinks have this pattern.)
This should also make it possible to adapt for pens, drag knives, etc.... get creative.
My original purpose was 1 & 2 above but figured since I was starting from scratch, I would add some other features.
I intentionally made it a very tight fit. Depending on your printer, you may need to file the angle down a bit if you want a looser fit. For me, this locks into place very nicely and requires a bit of a tug to pull it back out. With something mounted to it, this really isn't diffi
