My father in law customized his lathe to add automated speed control, however the original encoder disc no longer fit in the space he had available. He hand made his own, but could only achieve 60 slots. By upgrading to 120 slots at the same radius, he gets twice the granularity in his feedback control loop. This is a very custom part, no clue if anyone else would utilize it. But if you wanted the original 360 design files to modify, I'd be happy to provide them. I printed in 0.08mm layer height, 100% infill concentric on every layer, with significantly slowed down tool head on my X1C (no setting faster than 50mm/s). This is the only way to get a clean print that I could find. For the 120 slot version you can use PLA-CF if you have a printer that can support it, otherwise I suggest PETG. I also wanted to go up to 180 slots, and was able to achieve this with the 0.2mm nozzle. Similar settings apply, and of course no PLA-CF so I used PETG and it came out very clean.
