Related to and descended from the basal polypods are the bilaterians. These organisms have right-to-left symmetry that extends down the body. They possess a head with a defined mouth at the front of the body. This morphology makes it easier to travel in one direction. Basal bilaterians possess as many as 9 pairs of legs, giving some a centipede-like appearance. Sometimes these organisms are called "inchers" because of their insect-like nature.
One species of bilaterian is known as the Leaping Bug, sometimes called the Ground Hopper. The leaping bug has 4 eyes, 2 at the font of the body and 2 at the end of the body. Members of the species can slide their stilt-like legs up and down. They also possess 4 legs, each of which is flattene
