Here are some Christmas Stars (8 and 12 cm wide) with colour fading LEDs. You can use any brighter LED you have but I happened to have the slow fade colour changing ones which worked out nicely.
I printed two of each star half section without supports, before inserting and super gluing the led in place before finally gluing the two halves together while clamping with rubber bands.
I've powered some from USB via a 120ohm resister in series to drop the voltage and limit the current. I also used a mini CR2032 3v battery cell to test with but you could also use a pair of AAA batteries in series in you prefer.
