I wanted to create a cool designed LED-stripe lamp with three arms, 1.5m high for the living room to impress my wife what may be done with a 3D printer (20 cm bed size).
The lighted arms should start in the base (where the power supply is plugged in), turning around like a bow. To get a hight of up to 1.5m, I had to cut the arms into several pieces, each a maximum length of 20cm. Each piece had the width to take at least one LED stripe. To let the light shine through, the topping of each piece is made of clear PLA.
After printing you have to plug (and glue) the pieces together and put a stripe of LED inside.

I made a first test lamp with a height of 5cm. Works fine. Than I started a real lamp test with a 30cm lamp. Works also great (see pictures). I wanted to start the real lamp with a height of 1.5m...
...but my wife don't wanted to have 'plastics' in her living room! :-(
So the last proof of concept is missing, yet. May you can try this and show me how it works?
