I designed this little light bar to hold some LEDs to illuminate the bed of my MakerGear M2. It's held on to the bottom of the X axis support with some double sided tape, and I have 3 AA batteries powering 6 LEDs. You can either use the Customizer, or just OpenSCAD itself, to change the length, number of LEDs, etc.
Unfortunately, this one doesn't work with newer M2's. In 2018 I finally upgraded mine to the V4 extruder. It requires the build plate to be much closer to the top of the frame, and there is not enough room for this thing to fit.
