I built a lightweight “cage” to cover my portable power station in the back of my 4x4. Its purpose is to protect the unit from being knocked by a sliding clothes bag. Since I had tubing left over from a broken camping chair (13mm OD / 10mm ID), I decided to repurpose it for the project. I designed and made fittings to connect the tubes, allowing me to assemble the cage. The plan is to cut the tubes to length and glue the fittings in place.
Note: So far, I’ve only printed a test piece in PLA while waiting for my PETG filament to arrive. As the test piece fit perfectly, I didn’t bother printing the additional fitting intended to slide over the tube for extra mid-span support.
New user, TinkerCAD deployed to design this.
