On a friend's recommendation I tried [BioFila "Linen"](http://two-bears.eu//index.php?k=1) filament for printing lithophanes and found that I really like it - it gives a much warmer glow than the natural ABS I'd previously used, similar to that of a traditional stone lithophane. Its light transmission is much lower, though, so it really needs its own light source, hence this Thing.
The lithophane was printed (standing up) on a Raise N2; the Ideamaker slicer setting are shown in one of the photos. It's important to use full (or zero, I guess) infill in order to avoid visible lines when the lithophane is backlit.
Also shown are the settings for creation of the lithophane in Ransen Software's excellent [PhotoToMesh](http://www.ransen.com/PhotoToMesh/Default.htm) application.
The stand and base were printed in beautiful ["Wound Up" coffee-infused PLA](http://www.3dfuel.com/shop/wound-coffee-filled-filament/) from 3D Fuel on a Zortrax M200. I suggest printing in the orientations sh
