It's not as dangerous as it looks* and makes a great present for family and friends. Ideal for using up leftover filament and seeing how well your printer is dialed-in. The loop lasts a surprisingly long time but will break or wear out eventually... but by then you'll be knee deep in these things.
I like to print it with two bottom layers, two outlines and three layers on top. The final thing is surprisingly light and a great 3d-printing conversation starter. Scale it up or scale it down and have some fun.
*) WARNING: Sharp edges! If you're worried, try the "less sharp" or the "soft" versions.
