Makes
A cable protector for cable laid on the floor.
This was designed for flat HDMI and VGA cables laid between the gaming computer and a projector. The segments (links) allow the protector to follow a curved path. A low profile, from customizability to just fit the cables, gives additional safety. Use tape to hold the cable in place. Double sided carpet tape can be used on the floor-side to hold the protector to the floor.
Most flat cables will take a 3 mm height on a hardwood floor. The customizer defaults are for a "standard" round cable core of 13 mm (0.5"). Carpeted floor will stress the cable and protector more due to the substrate flex. You can minimize breakage of the bridge and cable by using a greater attack angle, looser fit, and a narrower, thicker bridge.
For round cables,
Attack angle = 30
Channel height = 13
Channel width = 13
Wall = 2 // equivalent to bridge thickness
For flat cables,
Attack angle = 12
Channel height = 3
Channel width = 20
