This Linux penguin keychain is a solid, layered reinterpretation of the classic Tux artwork originally created by [email protected]
using The GIMP. The iconic source image is respected in its proportions and expression, but translated into physical form through careful 3D modeling rather than being flattened or stylized into a generic logo.
The model was built in AutoDesk Inventor by selectively extruding individual regions of the original artwork to different heights. The belly, eyes, beak, wings, and feet are all raised relative to the base silhouette, creating a clean, stepped relief that preserves the visual structure of the original drawing while making it readable and tactile as a physical object. This layered approach avoids tiny engraved lines that would disappear in printing or casting and instead produces strong, durable features you can feel with your fingers.
