Thomas Pmaxuw's Lithophane Filament Calibrator is as elegant a concept as it is a simple design. He created a simple wedge design to service this ambition. The concept is to print different thicknesses of a given material to see what range will work to create a Lithophane. This is a simple yet impressive concept and the model is well executed.
That said, I couldn't help but tinker. My first remix, Lithophane Calibrator - Parametric Grid (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4139947) was a grid containing a range of cells of varying thicknesses. This model is a square that has ten larger columns of varying thicknesses.
I have created STLs for the following ranges of thickness:
- .5mm - 1.4mm
- 1mm - 1.9mm
- 2mm - 2.9mm
- 3mm - 3.9mm
- 4mm - 4.9mm
- 5mm - 5.9mm
- 6mm - 6.9mm
- 7mm - 7.9mm
- 8mm - 8.9mm
- 9mm - 9.9mm
The largest model you can create would be 9mm - 9.9mm.
Like the first remix, this model has been designed in OpenSCAD.
