The Lithuanian Iron Wolf is a multifaceted symbol with deep historical, military, and cultural significance. It originates from a medieval legend about the founding of Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania. According to the legend, Grand Duke Gediminas (ca. 1275 – 1341) was hunting in the sacred forest near the Valley of Šventaragis when he had a dream of a huge iron wolf standing on a hill and howling as loudly as a hundred wolves. A small tribute to my ancestors. Please Enjoy.
