Here is my design for a Lightweight Lunar Gantry. This design allows the Gantry to expand to about 3 times the collapsed size. It also ensures structural rigidity and strength. Instead of using wheels, I chose to use tracks due to the following reasons; tracks allow the gantry to traverse virtually any surface and the gantry can spin about its centre when the tracks move in the opposite direction; making it easier to place the payload with accuracy. The hoisting system has a lot of thought put in too. It uses a worm gear in combination with a 20 tooth gear. The torque generated is enough to carry any necessary loads. Made in Fusion 360.
