This is a lockset installation jig very similar to what you can buy from Dewalt. It's designed for a 2-3/8" backset and gives you the exact location of the holes to drill. It also has a small indicator window to line up the correct height of the jig to your pencil mark. The top can be clamped with a quick-clamp type bar clamp.
