Spacer

The spacer is used to reduce the suspension travel of the gear selection.
The spring presses a ball into prefabricated holes, positioning the shift lever front/centre/rear. With each movement the ball is pushed inwards and the spring is tensioned. At the next hole the spring pushes the ball out again. If we now reduce the travel of the spring, it becomes harder and thus there is less play in the gear lever. It also requires a little more force to shift gears, which makes the feel more realistic.
Now the gearshift reminds me of the MX5 NB.
