Loom Holder for a 3/4 inch loom on a Ghostbusters Proton pack.
This loom holder is made to incorporate a 5mm diameter threaded brass insert to allow m3 screws from the top into the bottom part but also from outside the motherboard into the bottom part.
I use a soldering iron set to 180 degrees with a custom soldering tip (An old one I filed to fit the brass inserts) and gently heat set the brass inserts into the bottom part.
If I want to use screws from the motherboard, I do this on both ends of the bottom part.
I prefer using threaded brass inserts for screwing things in plastic as it allows you to unscrew and unmount as many times as you need without wearing out the threads in the plastic.
2 x 8mm m3 (could be 10mm) from the top into the loom holder at the bottom. There is also room in the top for an m3 screw to act as a set screw. I would recommend adding a round insert into the loom for stability.
2 x 10mm m3 countersunk (or not) screws are needed if you screw the
