This low-poly vase is designed to create a vertical gradient using just two filament colors—no specialty gradient filament required. The effect is achieved by slicing the model into thin horizontal layers that gradually transition from one color to the other, producing a smooth fade when viewed from a distance. Translucent PLA filaments, like Bambu Lab’s Translucent series, enhance the gradient by letting light pass through and blend the layers visually. Opaque filaments can also be used, but will result in a more banded appearance. I’ve found that a combination of a darker Bambu Lab Translucent PLA for one of the colors with a Basic PLA White for the other color works well. Another combination that blends well are any two of the lighter Translucent PLA filaments. The model prints easily with no supports and scales well to different sizes. It’s optimized for the Bambu H2D, which can switch colors per layer efficiently with its dual extruders. It can also be printed on other AMS-equippe
