Really this was just an experiment to see if I could quickly take a line drawing and turn it into solid model by extruding a shape "along" the path of the line drawing. It worked pretty well and I liked the print so much, I thought I'd share it. It does need a base or some way to stand itself up. That would be cool.
I put a quarter in the picture so you can get an idea of how big this thing is.
Edit: 2013-07-09 I fixed the STL a bit. The lines are now much thicker and it prints much better. These things were a HUGE hit on 4th of July. My friends and I all printed these out and wore them around our necks. Everywhere we went, people wanted to buy them. Which was pretty cool. I also printed a multi color red/white/blue version, but swapping the filament at 33 and 66%.
