I made this design to create replacement "bows" or "ribs" for the pre-2000's US Military M101(A1, A2, & A3) trailers.
I purchased an M101A3 trailer, and it didn't come with any bows, and I couldn't use the canvas cover to keep the trailer contents dry. I ended up finding a set locally, but if you don't already know, these are hard to come by for cheap, and companies on eBay want big bucks for them. I've designed a few plates that can be laser cut or plasma cut out of metal and used to sandwich some US dimensional 2x2 cedar boards to use as the structure.
You'll find a DXF for laser/plasma cutting and some STEP files to use if you need to make modifications to the design. In addition, I've attached some 2D drawings so you can use them to make these parts by hand.
You must cut the cedar boards to a specific profile so they will rest nicely into the receptacle on the trailer.
The holes are intended to work with standard 1/2" bolts you can readily find at any local hardware
