This M3 Brass Insert Practice Board is a simple tool designed to help you practice inserting M3 brass heat-set inserts before attempting them on more important or costly 3D prints. This practice board allows you to get comfortable with the process and improve your technique in a low-risk setting.
The board is intended for use with standard M3 brass inserts, but the same method applies to other sizes as well. To install the inserts, you'll need a soldering iron as well as tweezers or pliers for handling the inserts. A hard, smooth surface or a simple hand tool can also help you press the inserts into place cleanly and flush with the part.
