This is a help tool for people using SCAD or customizing someones design to find out what hole size you need for M3, M4 or M5 nuts to fit with just the right clearance.

The parameter we are tuning is the "e" dimension in the attached drawing.

The hole size "e" in the test rig are:

M3: 6.3mm to 6.8mm with 0.1mm step
M4/M5: 8.5mm to 11 mm with 0.25mm step

However you can easily modify it to your needs, scad file is attached.

For me, I found these optimal settings:
M3: 6.5mm
M4: 8.5mm
M5; 9.5mm
