So... After M3D's model almost literally broke my printer, I have redesigned it.
The file named _try2 will probably print a little better. I did a little filing on the first try piece - which is 1mm larger in diameter (39mm for the old one, 38mm for the new Try2 one). The hook design was a little painful, too, to be honest - I'm going to redesign that at a later date.
This is based off of the model from their website for an external filament spool holder. M3D's design was a 3-prong piece that didn't actually fit inside the hook it made two pieces... for some reason... Also, the prongs would consistently break. I printed the 3-prong piece I redesigned at least 5 times before I got one to work after I used a butane heat gun. That's ridiculous.
So, I redesigned the spool piece. Instead of using three easily breakable prongs, it uses a more simplified piece to hold the spool without retaining it as securely. Gravity will hold it on. After two sucessful prints, it has worked perfec
