MacBook Pro 15" stand

This is a two-part stand for the 15" MacBook Pro models before the touch bar. Mine is a 2014 model, and should work on those with the same body.

I was inspired by this https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1324768 design, but I didn't like how it sat on the laptop and that it pressed so hard against the charging cable. The ports on the right also weren't all usable.

So I made my own. This one has full port usability and has a clip that adds some stability. You can even lift the entire Mac and they will stay in place.

This has been my first functional design on my own printer, and after 11 versions and many print prototypes, I must say it really is a rush to take something from an idea to reality.

Please share any makes and give feedback if something can be improved.

WARNING: Do not try to close the screen while the stands are attached. It may damage the laptop.
