wanted to be able to put the mac mini on the server rack. so i made a tray that works with @russross raspberry pi 4 1u rack-mount bracket project. ... https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4125055
this macmini tray module is designed to replace 3 of the 6 pi modules that would make up 1u on the rack.
macmini can be placed in any orientation - opening at front of tray has width sized to expose the port "window"

on fit, the macmini sits ~1mm too high. have to make adjustments to the guesstimates of the dimensions of the macmini, particularly the radius of the filleted corners, and the loft from the round access panel/base to the start of the square edged part of the base
on functionality/utility, working on a version that has cable/wire routing built into the front of the tray and along the sides - to be able to, for example, route the power cord and firewire cable to the rear of the tray.
on robustness, putting additional support for the top spans al
