The Apple Magic Trackpad (original version) is notorious for having issues with the rubber feet pulling free of the housing. This is particularly common if (like me) you carry the trackpad in a backpack.
This sleeve helps alleviate this problem. The sleeve keeps the rubber feet from catching on material when stored in a backpack. Raised runners keep the feet from touching the interior of the sleeve during insertion/removal.
Please note that this sleeve is not a pressure fit. The trackpad will pull free of the sleeve if turned upside down.
The proof of concept print was done in Protopasta carbon fiber PLA. The material prints beautifully, but is very brittle. If printing in a flexible material I would suggest trimming the inside area by around .3 mm. Other than that a rubber band will keep the trackpad secured.
The model was created using TinkerCad. Feel free to modify as needed.
A version without the Apple logo is included.
