Child lock for furniture.
Can be attached via double sided foam tape or screws
In armed state the small magnet lifts main magnets as a spring and lifts the hook.
To disarm just enclose the magnet "key" at about 5cm and this overdrives the "spring" magnet.
To permanently disarm - just remove the spring magnet from the bottom of the lock.
What you need for one lock (BOM):
- 1 inch of 3mm rod. I used a steel one.
- two 6x3 mm magnets
- one 4x2 mm magnet
You will also need some big magnet to act like a key.
When assembling assume the magnets polarity. Two 6mm has to be in one polarity and have to attract the key magnet. The smaller 4mm magnet has to push away 6mm magnets when all is assembled.
To attach magnets to plastic use any ABS solvent, apply some to the holes where magnets meant to be, then push magnets there and wait the solvent to vaporize (max 24h).
